Add another network
Authorize a different public IP (home router, office…) with the services ticked above. Up to 10 networks.
Smart DNS setup guides
First save and authorize this network above, then set the Vela DNS server on the device you want to watch on.
Router
- Open your router admin page.
- Find DNS, Internet, DHCP or LAN settings.
- Set primary DNS to the Vela DNS server shown above.
- Leave secondary DNS blank where possible, or repeat the same Vela DNS.
- Save, reconnect the device, then reopen the streaming app.
Roku / Fire TV
- Set Smart DNS on your router if the device does not expose DNS directly.
- For Fire TV, open network settings and edit the current Wi‑Fi network.
- Use the Vela DNS server as DNS 1.
- Restart the device and open the streaming app again.
Apple TV / Android Box
- Open network settings on the box.
- Switch DNS from automatic to manual.
- Enter the Vela DNS server shown above.
- Restart the box, then open BBC iPlayer, Netflix or the service you selected.
PS4 / PS5 / Xbox
- Open network setup and choose custom/manual settings.
- Keep IP, gateway and MTU automatic/default.
- Set primary DNS to the Vela DNS server.
- Leave secondary DNS blank where possible, or use the same Vela DNS.
- Restart the console before opening streaming apps.
Samsung / LG TV
- Open TV network settings.
- Edit the connected Wi‑Fi or Ethernet network.
- Disable automatic DNS and enter the Vela DNS server.
- Restart the TV, then reopen the streaming app.
If a device only accepts one DNS server, use the Vela DNS server as the only value. If it asks for a secondary DNS, leave it blank where possible or repeat the same Vela DNS server. Do not use public DNS like 8.8.8.8 as secondary, otherwise some streaming lookups may bypass Vela.
